We
believe that serving veterans and their
dependents is our primary focus. Although the
American Legion is a membership organization, we
are committed to service to all veterans who
need our assistance and encouraging them to
become members. Our organization promotes
patriotism and honors the memory of those brave
persons who gave their lives in the service of
this country. We also uphold and honor others
who have dropped their burdens by the wayside of
life and gone on to their eternal rest. We take
our responsibility for the dependants of
veterans and youth in particular very serious.
We have initiated programs that mentor youth
through counseling and guidance and our members
serve as their role models and advocates. The
Colonel Charles Young Post #398 is an intricate
part of our diverse Harlem community and are
involved in many aspects of the churches,
schools, and community based organizations.
Colonel Charles Young Post #398 promotes love
and pride in our country and will continue to
uphold the sanctity of “Americanism” in our
actions and deeds.
